Internet personality Nick Sortor highlighted that Robin Westman was previously known as Robert Westman until 2020 when he legally changed his name. Court records indicate that Westman identified as transgender during his youth with parental consent. This revelation has sparked discussions on trans violence.

Various social media users have shared images of Westman, claiming he harboured animosity towards Christians. Collin Rugg noted that videos released by Westman contained hateful messages towards Christians, which have since been removed from platforms.
