Meet Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan Who Claimed Pakistan Army Would Lay First Brick of Babri Mosque In Ayodhya
Amid heightened tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistani senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan stirred controversy with her comments against India.
What Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan Said?
In a speech in Pakistan's Upper House, she claimed that Pakistani soldiers would lay the "first brick" of a new Babri mosque in Ayodhya, and that the first azaan (call to prayer) would be given by Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir. A video of her provocative speech has gone viral.

In the clip, she has claimed that "We are not wearing bangles," as India prepares to retaliate to the recent Pahalgam incident. "The first brick of the new Babri mosque in Ayodhya will be laid by Pakistan Army soldiers, and the first azaan will be given by Army Chief Asim Munir himself," the Pakistani lawmaker said on Tuesday. She added, "We are not wearing bangles."
Palwasha further suggested that Sikh soldiers in India would not act against Pakistan due to its religious significance as the birthplace of Guru Nanak.
"If they are threatening Pakistan, then let them know that the Sikh army will not attack Pakistan because it's the land of Guru Nanak for them," she said.
This follows a pattern of provocative statements from Pakistani leaders. Recently, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari criticized India over its decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, declaring that Pakistan is the true custodian of the Indus civilization. He issued a stark warning, saying: "Either our water will flow through it, or their blood will."
Who is Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan?
A member of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Palwasha Khan has served in Pakistan's Upper House since 2021, representing Sindh on a women's reserved seat. She previously served in the National Assembly (2008-2013) and is the niece of prominent politician Fozia Behram.
The Pahalgam Terror Attack
On April 22, Lashkar-linked terrorists attacked a group of tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, killing at least 26 people, including foreign nationals. The Resistance Front (TRF), affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility before denying any link with the incident.
However, India has downgraded the ties with Pakistan by cancelling all visas for Pakistani nationals. New Delhi has suspended the Indus Water Treaty and closed airspace for all Pakistani flights.
The international community has condemned the incident and most countries have extended support to India.
