Khamenei: Iran Will Respond To Israeli Aggression, No Exaggeration Or Downplay
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei emphasises Iran's right to retaliate against Israeli incursions, advocating for a balanced response to assert national strength amidst rising regional tensions.
Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, underscored the nation's right to retaliate against Israeli incursions, emphasizing the need to counteract Israel's misguided calculations.
In a statement made on Sunday, Khamenei highlighted the importance of neither overstating nor understating Israel's recent assault on Iran, pointing out the necessity to disrupt the Israeli regime's miscalculations.

His remarks come in the wake of an air attack by Israel targeting Iranian military installations, which Iran claims resulted in minimal damage. Khamenei's stance reflects a determination to convey Iran's strength and resolve to Israel while considering the most beneficial course of action for the Iranian people and their interests, as reported by Hindustan Times.
"The evil actions of the Israeli regime two nights ago should neither be exaggerated nor downplayed. The miscalculations of the Israeli regime must be disrupted. It is essential to make them understand the strength, will, and initiative of the Iranian nation and its youth," Khamenei articulated. This statement underscores the supreme leader's call for a measured response to Israel's aggression, aligning with Iran's strategic interests and national pride.
In reaction to Israel's air strikes, which targeted missile factories and other sites in and around Tehran, Iran played down the impact of these attacks, acknowledging them but affirming they caused only "limited damage." This response arrived amid a broader context of escalating tensions, with Israel having conducted multiple waves of strikes and Iran vowing to defend itself against these aggressions, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Despite the hostile engagement, Iran has also expressed a commitment to prioritizing peace in regions like Gaza and Lebanon, advocating for a lasting ceasefire even as it reserves its right to retaliate. The international community, including the United States, Germany, and Britain, has urged Tehran to refrain from further escalating the conflict, as per media reports.
US President Joe Biden expressed hope that the recent strikes, which he noted appeared to target only military sites, would mark an end to the hostilities. Similarly, the European Union has called for maximum restraint to avert uncontrollable escalation. These global reactions reflect a widespread concern over the potential for a broader conflict in the region.
Israel's aggressive posture towards Iran has been part of a longer narrative of conflict involving Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, with recent hostilities triggering devastating casualties among civilians in both areas, as per media reports.
The ongoing strife intensified following a significant attack by Hamas on Israel, leading to an extensive loss of life and escalating military responses from Israel across Gaza and Lebanon. This backdrop of conflict sets the stage for the current tensions between Iran and Israel, with each incident further complicating the prospects for peace in the region.
As the situation continues to unfold, the focus remains on the potential for diplomatic interventions to mitigate further violence and on the strategic decisions that will be made by Iran in response to Israel's actions. The international community's role in seeking resolutions and preventing an escalation in hostilities is more critical than ever, underscoring the importance of dialogue and restraint amidst the ongoing turmoil.
