Israel Defense Force Confirms Death Of Hamas Commander Abd Al-Hadi Sabah In Drone Strike

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed the death of Abd al-Hadi Sabah, a commander in Hamas' Nukhba Platoon. He was killed in a drone strike in southern Gaza's Khan Yunis area. Sabah was identified as a key figure behind the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7 massacre. The operation was based on precise intelligence, according to an IDF statement shared on X.

Sabah had been operating from a shelter within a humanitarian area in Khan Yunis. The IDF described him as one of the orchestrators of the infiltration into Kibbutz Nir Oz and noted his involvement in multiple terrorist attacks against IDF forces during the ongoing conflict. The IDF and ISA emphasized their commitment to targeting individuals involved in the October 7 attack, pledging to continue pursuing those responsible for these atrocities.

IDF's Operations Against Hamas

In earlier operations, the IDF reported that its units, alongside Shin Bet (Israel's General Security Service), eliminated 14 Hamas terrorists. Among them were six individuals who participated in the October 7 massacre. These actions are part of the ongoing activities of the IDF's 162nd "Steel" Division in the Gaza Strip.

The 162nd Division has been active in Jabalia and Beit Lahia areas. This joint effort with Shin Bet aims to locate and eliminate terrorists involved in the October 7 attack. The division continues its operations as part of this coordinated mission.

Impact of Hamas' Attack

The October 7 attack by Hamas resulted in over 1,200 Israeli casualties and more than 250 hostages taken. In response, Israel launched a significant counteroffensive targeting Hamas units in Gaza. However, this has led to over 45,000 Palestinian casualties, raising international concerns about the humanitarian impact.

The conflict further intensified with Iran-backed groups like Hezbollah from Lebanon and Houthi rebels from Yemen escalating their offensives against Israel. This situation has forced Tel Aviv to confront challenges of a multi-front war, increasing regional tensions and amplifying global calls for a ceasefire.
