Hindus are tortured by Muslims in Bangladesh, govt is not protecting them, says Taslima Nasreen
Dhaka, Nov 2: In the backdrop of recent atrocity carried out by Muslim youth against Hindus (minority) in Bangladesh, noted writer Taslima Nasreen has said that the government is not doing anything to protect them.
A pregnant woman was among nine injured in an attack carried out by Muslim youth after an altercation over setting off firecrackers during Luxmi Puja on October 28 in Feni district.

As a result of the attack, pregnant woman, identified as 20-year-old Tulsi Rani Das later gave birth to a stillborn baby.
Police have arrested at least eight youth identified as Alamgir Hossain Babu, 18, Jahangir Alam, 20, Zakir Hossain, 20, Kazi Nur Hossain, 20, Saddam Hossain Babu, 18, Amir Hossain, 38, Reaz Uddin, and Jahangir Alam Sumon at Mathiara village on Friday in this case, reported Bdnews24.com.
The judge set Nov 22 for the hearing of remand petition seeking to grill them in custody for five days.
It has been a long period of over 40 years since independence Hindus in Bangladesh remain vulnerable to attacks by anti-liberation forces.
