A gasoline tanker explosion in north-central Nigeria has resulted in 98 fatalities, according to the country's emergency response agency. The incident occurred early Saturday near Suleja in Niger state when individuals attempted to transfer fuel from a crashed tanker to another vehicle using a generator. This action triggered the explosion, leading to the deaths of those involved and nearby onlookers.

Hussaini Isah, head of operations for Niger State at the National Emergency Management Agency, mentioned that the death toll might increase. "The death toll keeps changing," he stated. On Sunday, Isah explained that the blast had many victims because a crowd had gathered at the scene, including people taking pictures and others trying to collect gasoline.
