Chennai Born Indian American Teenager Caitlin Sandra Neil Crowned Miss India USA 2024
In an inspiring achievement that highlights the aspirations and talents of young Indian Americans, 19-year-old Caitlin Sandra Neil, originally from Chennai, India, has been named Miss India USA 2024. The prestigious title was awarded to Caitlin at the annual pageant that took place in New Jersey.
Currently a second-year student at the University of California, Davis, Caitlin has expressed her desire to use her platform to create a lasting positive impact on society, with a particular focus on women's empowerment and literacy. Caitlin, who has spent the last 14 years living in the USA, also harbors ambitions of carving out a career in web design as well as modeling and acting.

The competition, which drew 47 contestants from 25 states, saw participants competing across three categories. This event is a testament to the diversity and richness of Indian culture within the United States, showcasing a blend of talent, intelligence, and community spirit among young Indian-American women. In the Mrs. India USA category, Sanskriti Sharma from Illinois clinched the title, while the Miss Teen India USA crown was awarded to Arshita Kathpalia from Washington. The event, organized by the India Festival Committee (IFC), not only celebrated Indian heritage but also provided a platform for young women to showcase their ambitions and talents.
The pageant also announced runners-up in each category, highlighting the competitive spirit and talent of the participants. Nirali Desia of Illinois and Manini Patel of New Jersey were honored as the first and second runners-up in the Miss India USA competition, respectively. Meanwhile, in the Mrs. India USA category, Sapna Mishra of Virginia and Chinmayee Ayachit from Connecticut were named first and second runners-up, respectively. The teen category saw Dhriti Patel of Rhode Island and Sonali Sharma achieving the positions of first and second runners-up.
