DSF Celebrates Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's 100th Anniversary With Musical Tribute

On Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's 100th anniversary, the Dinesh Shahra Foundation held a musical tribute celebrating his message of unity and compassion through art and education.

On the historic occasion of legendary musician Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Ji’s 100th birth anniversary, the Dinesh Shahra Foundation (DSF) organized a soulful tribute at BMC School, Kawale Math, Malabar Hill, celebrating his enduring message of unity, compassion, and humanity.

The event saw students and guests join together in the chant “Bhupen Ji Amar Rahein,” honoring the cultural icon whose music transcended generations. The highlight of the celebration was Dr. Dinesh Shahra, Founder of DSF, singing one of Bhupen Da’s timeless songs along with children, creating a heartfelt atmosphere of remembrance.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shahra said, “Music and culture play a vital role in inspiring children to rise above differences and contribute positively to society. Bhupen Da’s songs remind us of the power of art in shaping human values.”

Dr. Shahra, who has himself authored five acclaimed books — Sanatan Living, Sanatan Wisdom, Sanatan Avatar, Sanatan Utsav, and Dalai Lama’s Secret to Happiness — has consistently promoted the integration of music, literature, and values as essential pillars of education and spiritual growth. His works echo the same ideals of harmony, compassion, and cultural preservation that Bhupen Hazarika Ji championed through his art.

The school’s Principal, Mrs. Sayli Patil, remarked, “Such initiatives not only honor great legends like Bhupen Hazarika Ji but also instill in our students the timeless values of compassion, unity, and humanity.
