Yogi Adityanath: Saints, Mahatmas Guide Society Beyond Power
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that no saint, mahatma, or yogi can ever be subservient to power. Instead, they inspire society to follow their path. He made these remarks during the 425th Avtaran Samaroh at Aghoracharya Baba Keenaram's birthplace.

Saint Keenaram's Contributions
Adityanath highlighted that Saint Keenaram was born into an aristocratic family and achieved siddhi through meditation. Despite attaining siddhi, which often leads to arrogance, Baba Keenaram used his spiritual powers for the nation's and people's welfare. "No saint, mahatma or yogi can ever be a slave of power. Rather, he inspires the society to follow in his footsteps," said Adityanath.
The chief minister also mentioned that Baba Keenaram worked tirelessly to unite Dalits, tribals, and various societal sections. He awakened a spirit of a discrimination-free society, achievable only through a saint, Aghoracharya, or yogi. Adityanath noted that although Baba Keenaram came from a high aristocratic family, he initiated several programmes to uplift tribes and local residents.
Historical Actions Against Mughal Rule
Adityanath recounted how Baba Keenaram reprimanded Shah Jahan and drove him away to teach the Mughals a lesson. This act demonstrated that saints and yogis are never subservient to power. "He reprimanded the government of that time," Adityanath added.
The event saw the presence of many notable figures including Aghoracharya Baba Siddharth Gautam Ram and former Union Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey. The chief minister paid his respects to Saint Keenaram during the ceremony.
Adityanath emphasised that saints like Baba Keenaram inspire society by their actions and teachings. Their lives serve as examples for others to follow, promoting unity and welfare without succumbing to arrogance or power.
The chief minister's speech underscored the importance of spiritual leaders in guiding society towards a more inclusive and harmonious existence. He reiterated that true spiritual leaders use their influence for the greater good rather than personal gain.
The event commemorated Baba Keenaram's contributions and celebrated his legacy of social unity and welfare. It highlighted the enduring impact of his teachings on contemporary society.
In conclusion, Adityanath's address at the Avtaran Samaroh paid tribute to Baba Keenaram's life and work, reinforcing the idea that true spiritual leaders remain independent of worldly power while inspiring societal progress.
