Woman in Gonda Allegedly Threatens Husband with Gruesome Violence Similar to Meerut Case
A woman in a district of Uttar Pradesh has allegedly threatened her husband with dismemberment, similar to a recent incident in Meerut. The video of this threat has gained widespread attention on social media. Police stated on Sunday that complaints from both parties were received on Saturday, and appropriate action will follow after an investigation.

Junior Engineer Dharmendra Kushwaha, originally from Jhansi and currently employed at Jal Nigam in Gonda, accused his wife Maya Maurya and her relative Neeraj Maurya of assault and threats. Kushwaha mentioned that he married Maya, who is from Basti district, in 2016 through a love marriage.
Allegations and Property Disputes
After their daughter was born, Kushwaha purchased three vehicles in Maya's name and continued paying the installments. In 2022, he bought land under Maya's name and entrusted the house construction contract to Neeraj. During this period, Maya grew closer to Neeraj, especially after his wife's death during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kushwaha claimed he discovered Maya and Neeraj in a compromising situation on July 7, 2024. When he confronted them, he was allegedly beaten, leading to Maya leaving the house. On August 25, 2024, she returned with Neeraj, forcibly entered the home by breaking the lock, and took away a gold chain weighing 15 grams along with cash. Kushwaha reported this incident on September 1, 2024.
Escalating Tensions and Threats
On March 29, 2025, Maya allegedly threatened Kushwaha's mother with harm. When Kushwaha objected, both he and his mother were reportedly assaulted by Maya and Neeraj. During this altercation, Maya allegedly said she would have him "chopped and packed in a drum like the Meerut massacre," according to Kushwaha's complaint.
Maya countered these claims by accusing Kushwaha of making false allegations. She stated that he had been harassing her and forced her to undergo four abortions. In her complaint, Maya mentioned that Kushwaha beat her in July 2024, prompting her to file a report at the women's police station. She also alleged that he initiated divorce proceedings and forced her out of their home.
Legal Proceedings and Investigation
Kotwali Police Station SHO Vivek Trivedi confirmed ongoing court cases involving the couple. He added that police have begun investigating the recent incident and are reviewing CCTV footage for evidence.
The situation remains tense as both parties continue to level accusations against each other. Authorities are working to determine the facts amidst these serious allegations.
