Will expose all scams of Stalin govt: Annamalai releases DMK files

Stepping up his attack on the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai on Friday released DMK files alleging top ministers and Chief Minister MK Stalins family members of having unaccounted assets worth Rs 1.34 lakh crore.

Annamalai, referring to the DMK rule between 2006 and 2011, alleged that payments were received by the party as kickbacks from a company that won a bid related to the execution of Chennai Metro Rail Phase I project.

"We have released DMK files part 1 today. It is going to be a series throughout the year. We have only disclosed the direct assets, their shareholdings in a company and the valuation of the properties they own. We haven't gone beyond it. The most concerning question is, how is DMK becoming part of the largest money laundering business worldwide," Annamalai was quoted saying by ANI.

"Not only DMK scams, but we will oppose scams by all parties. I will open up everything to the Tamil Nadu people. Let's see who the Tamil Nadu people are going to vote for. This is a fight against corruption and not just our fight against one party. I will not stop here," he said.

"We want to reflect the true vision of PM Modi, that we're a party that takes up issues that matters to the public. We're starting a 'Padyatra' to expose DMK scams from the first week of June, our party leaders will walk across Tamil Nadu," he added.

The TN BJP leader alleged that the company which won that bid paid "Rs 200 crore" to Stalin for "DMK's 2011 election fund" through two shell companies, one Singapore-based and another based in Hong Kong. Though late M Karunanidhi was the chief minister at that time, the subject related to the Metro project came under Stalin's purview, he claimed.

"I am going to lodge a complaint today to the CBI Director to probe the receipt of Rs 200 crore bribe through two shell companies. This is a direct allegation against the Chief Minister by us," he said. CBI had the authority to probe into it, he added.

The BJP leader claimed that only part 1 of the DMK file has been released today, and the series will go on throughout the year.

Earlier this month, the Bharatiya Janata Party also released a similar "Congress Files" video in which it alleged that the party had looted lakhs of crores from Indians.
