Why Anand Mahindra wants to drive on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway at night
The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is a marvel and once completed will cut travel time between capital and financial capital to just 12 hours
New Delhi, Feb 11: The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is not just a project of high importance, but is an engineering marvel as well.
Looking at the stunning visuals of the Expressway shared by Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra wrote,' you've reminded us that infrastructure isn't boring-it can be magical. I was planning to drive on this expressway-no dreamway-in the day, but now I think I will plan a night cruise.'

Gadkari while posting the video wrote, "Aesthetic night views from the architectural marvel Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Have a look!!"

The video posed by Gadkari has impressed one and all. Netizens praised the efforts of the transport ministry and also hailed the construction.
On February 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a stretch of the
Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Once the project is completed, the travel time between Delhi and Mumbai will be cut by two hours.
Once PM Modi inaugurates the stretch, the same will made open to public by Tuesday. The travel time between Delhi and Jaipur will be cut to just 2 hours, once PM Modi inaugurates the Sohna-Dausa stretch of the expressway on Sunday.

The expressway will parallel to the existing National Highway 8. The Expressway is expected to provide a more comfortable and safe mode of transport for passengers. It would also support the growth of industries an businesses along the route.
15,00 hectares of land have been acquired along five states-Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra for this project. The expressway will be an eight-lane access controlled greenfield expressway which can be expanded to 12 lanes in the future.
There would be more than 40 major interchanges on the expressway which will give connectivity to Kota, Indore, Jaipur, Bhopal, Vadodara and Surat.
Moreover this is the first expressway to accommodate animal overpasses, underpasses and has been aligned to minimise the impact on the Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary. The Delhi-Mumbai expressway will cut the distance between the two cities to 1,242 kilometres from the existing 1,424. To improve commuter experience, there will be 94 wayside amenities. The project cost in 2018 was estimated to be 98,000 crore.
