As people saw the PM completing the formalities, one face that caught everyone's attention was of an old man or Sadhu. He sat next to the PM and they are seen interacting with each other in the ANI shared video.

So, who is he? Well, he is one of the four proposers of the PM in the Varanasi constituency. The other three are: Baijnath Patel, Lalchand Kushwaha and Sanjay Sonkar.

Know About Ganeshwar Shastri

Ganeshwar Shastri is a renowned scholar who had a played a key role in Ayodhya's Ram Temple consecration ceremony.

Brahmin scholar Ganeshwar Shastri, the second son of Rajeshwar Shastri, has been dedicated to propagating religion and teaching while residing in Kashi. He diligently follows the decisions of the Girvanavagvardhini Sabha at Sangveda Vidyalaya and extends his expertise in astrology, Ayurveda, and rituals to help people overcome various challenges.

The consecration ceremony, which took place on 22 January, witnessed a meticulously chosen auspicious moment of just 84 seconds, determined by Pandit Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid. This timing was also used for laying the foundation stone of the Ram temple, highlighting the scholar's profound involvement in the monumental project.

Originating from the Ramghat area of Kashi, where his ancestors resided on the banks of the Ganga, Ganeshwar Shastri's family migrated from South India to settle in Kashi, the revered city of Baba Vishwanath. His elder brother, Pandit Vishweshwar Shastri, also a respected scholar, continues to reside in Kashi, upholding the family's legacy of academic excellence.
