Who Is Sooryagayathri? The Melodious Voice Chanting Lord Ram's Praise

With days away from the grand inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is actively using social media platforms to share hymns dedicated to Lord Ram. A recent post on the platform 'X' featured the devotional bhajan 'Shri Ramchandra Kripalu,' sung by the talented 17-year-old classical bhajan singer, Sooryagayathri.

Expressing her gratitude, Sooryagayathri stated, "I am very happy that Honorable PM Modiji shared my bhajan. I am feeling truly blessed."

She took to Facebook, saying, "What a day to start with... Thank you so much, our beloved PM @narendramodi Ji, for sharing the wonderful bhajan. So happy to be born in this era of Lord Ram coming back home. Blessed to be singing bhajans in His praise since my childhood. Let's celebrate!"

Who is Sooryagayathri?

Sooryagayathri, originally from the village of Purameri in Vadakara, North Kerala, has received formal training in Carnatic music from Smt. Anandi and Sri Nishanth. Mentorship from Sri Kuldeep M Pai, both musically and spiritually, has played a significant role in shaping her journey as an outstanding musician. Her father, Sri P.V. Anil Kumar, is an accomplished Mridangam artist in Kerala, and her mother, Smt. P.K. Divya, is a poetess with a natural flair.

Sooryagayathri achieved the M.S Subbulakshmi fellowship in music at the age of 10 from Mumbai Shanmukhananda Sabha and the Trivandrum Kalanidhi Sangeeth Rathna award. She received the Samaj Sakthi Award in 2017, along with her Guru Kuldeep M. Pai, from the Hariharaputhra Bhajan Samaj Mumbai.

With a viewership of over 150 million on YouTube, Sooryagayathri is the main singer of the music series 'Vande Guru Paramparam,' produced by Kuldeep M. Pai. Her bhajan concerts, held across India and abroad (South Africa, Singapore, etc.), have won the hearts of millions.
