Who Are The Parliament Breach Accused & What Is Their Motive Behind The Attack?
In a cinematic turn of events, six individuals breached Parliament security on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack on Wednesday. Adding an unexpected twist, two men leapt into the gallery from the Lok Sabha chamber during the Zero Hour.
To everyone's shock, they sprayed a yellow-coloured gas from canisters and shouted slogans, before being overpowered by the MPs. So, who are they and what is their motive?

The four people belong to diverse backgrounds and their coming together itself is nothing short of a mystery. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the common thread among them is that they are all members of a social media page called the 'Bhagat Singh Fan Club' and they have known each other through social media for four years.
Manoranjan D
Manoranjan D, one of the two persons to jump into the chamber, is from Mysuru in Karnataka. He has completed his BE (Bachelor in Engineering) in 2016 and was looking after the family farm. He also worked in some firms in Delhi and Bengaluru, his family said. He got the authorisation pass to enter Lok Sabha from the office of BJP MP Pratap Simha and introduced Sagar Sharma, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, as a friend.
What comes as a surprise is that Manoranjan D was a fan of PM Narendra Modi and used to praise him. What has changed his views about the PM is not known yet. But the investigation has indicated that a few in their group were jobless and they were upset with the unemployment situation in the country.
"Hang my son if he has done wrong. That Parliament is ours. People like you all have built it. Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, and Nehru had toiled to build it. Whoever does it (attack) is condemnable. We will not accept it," Gowda told reporters in Mysuru.
Sagar Sharma
28-year-old Sagar Sharma departed from his residence in Ramnagar, Lucknow, to participate in a "protest" in Delhi. Nevertheless, his family claims to have been oblivious to his role in the breach of Parliament security. "I heard my brother telling my mother that he was going to Delhi to attend a protest a few days ago," said Sagar Sharma's minor sister.
"My brother drove an e-rickshaw and earlier used to work in Bengaluru," the sister added. They lived in in a rented house in the Ramnagar area and his father Roshan Lal is a carpenter.
Amol Shinde
25-year-old Shinde hails from Zari village in Maharashtra's Latur district. He had left his home telling his family that he was heading to Delhi to participate in an army recruitment drive. Along with Neelam from Haryana, Shinde raised slogans such as "Tanashahi Nahi Chalegi" (dictatorship will not be allowed), "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," and "Jai Bheem, Jai Bharat" outside Parliament.
He is a BA graduate belonging to a Scheduled Caste community, He has been doing odd jobs as a daily wager while simultaneously preparing for police and army recruitment exams, according to the police. His parents informed authorities that Shinde left home on December 9, stating his intention to participate in an army recruitment drive in Delhi.
Neelam
Hailing from Hisar in Haryana, Neelam Azad has an M.Phil degree and has successfully passed the National Eligibility Test, a prerequisite for securing a teaching position. The 37-year-old played a role in deploying canisters filled with red and yellow smoke outside Parliament and joined in shouting slogans condemning "dictatorship."
Her family members have claimed that she had earlier participated in several agitations including the farmers' movement. Neelam's mother Saraswati Devi told reporters at her house in Ghaso Khurd village in Jind that she came to know about the incident through the media.
She was staying in a PG accommodation in Hisar for the last five months where she was preparing for competitive examinations, her brother Ram Niwas said. "I got a call from my elder brother to switch on the TV immediately. He told me that Neelam was arrested in Delhi," Niwas told PTI.
"Her certificate of Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test had expired. I asked her to go to Hisar and get coaching for the same," said Niwas, who does livestock farming.
A villager at Ghaso Khurd said Neelam had once gone with some villagers to Khatkar Toll Plaza during the farmers' protest against now-repealed farm laws. Neelam has three sisters and two brothers. His father Kohar Singh works as a 'halwai' (confectioner) in Uchana Mandi, the villager said.
Vicky Sharma
Vicky Sharma along with his wife Rekha has been arrested for allowing the accused to stay at their house in Gurugram. He works as a driver for an export company.
Lalit Jha
Lalit Jha, believed to be the mastermind behind the Parliament smoke incident, is currently evading authorities and was last spotted in Neemrana, a fort town located 125 km from the national capital. Hailing from Kolkata and working as a teacher, Jha, inspired by the revolutionary Shaheed Bhagat Singh, aspired to undertake an act that would capture the nation's attention.
What Are Their Motive?
During interrogation, the suspects have claimed that the breach was orchestrated to bring attention to various issues. Specifically, four of the accused expressed dissatisfaction with issues such as unemployment, challenges faced by farmers, and the ongoing violence in Manipur. They said that the use of coloured smoke was intended to garner attention, prompting lawmakers to engage in discussions on these matters.
Furthermore, the accused conveyed their desire to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discuss these concerns directly with him. However, the police remain sceptical and plan to scrutinize the suspects' mobile phones to determine the true motive behind their actions.
