West Bengal Violence Video Sparks Outrage: Woman Allegedly Beaten By TMC Worker In Uttar Dinajpur
West Bengal Violence Video: In a shocking incident, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) faced criticism on Sunday as the Opposition in West Bengal condemned the party over a purported video depicting a woman and a man being beaten.
It was alleged by the BJP and CPI(M) that the two individuals were assaulted by a TMC worker in Chopra, a region in the Uttar Dinajpur district in West Bengal where a woman is a chief minister.

Is humanity dead in Mamta's West Bengal?
In response to the incident, Chopra MLA Hamidul Rahaman referred to the woman being assaulted and thrashed as an "evil beast," accusing her of "unsocial" activities. However, he denied any association with the man seen in the video attacking the woman.
Rahaman described the situation as a village matter unrelated to the party. Meanwhile, it was reported by the police that the main accused in the Chopra woman assault case had been arrested.
Instead of condemning this heinous caught-on-cam crime in West Bengal, the MLA stated "The woman also did wrong. She left her husband, son, and daughter and became an evil beast. There is some code and justice according to Muslim society. However, we do agree that what happened was a bit extreme. Now, legal action will be taken in this case."
Earlier, a video shared on X by BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya alleged that the individual seen thrashing two people on the street was closely associated with Hamidul Rahaman. According to Islampur Police Superintendent Joby Thomas K, a case had been registered by the police after viewing the video on social media.
Note: Viewer discretion is advised as the following content may contain sensitive or distressing information.
"Raids have been initiated to apprehend the culprit, and an investigation into the reason behind the act is underway," stated Thomas. In the video circulated by the BJP and CPM, a man is seen thrashing two people with a bamboo stick. The woman, who appeared to be in pain, is visible in the footage. As the person is thrashing these two people, the crowd is not stopping it rather it is witnessing this incident.
Even though the BJP's Bengal unit alleged that the man in the video, identified as a local TMC leader named Tajemul, also known as 'JCB', was responsible for the beating. There has been no arrests made against this man, as reported by India Today. From July 1, the 3 new laws are going to be implemented. Will this man who assaulted two people in front of a number of witnesses on the street be punished? Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, TMC is still not ready to work for the protection of the people. TMC MLA Hamidul Rahaman dismissed the media attention, stating, "Which viral video are you talking about? The woman did not lodge a complaint about it. Only you people in the media are making it a headline."
Rahaman further commented that the woman had been involved in "unsocial activities," leading the village to organize a 'Salishi Sabha' (or Kangaroo court), which decided her punishment. "It is acknowledged that the justice administered was flawed. It was the local villagers who conducted this act. We are looking into the matter. However, neither the woman nor her husband filed a complaint. Given the context, a kangaroo court was convened," he said.
