Railways Flags Major Safety Concern
In the clip, the woman speaks in Marathi while showing Maggi simmering inside an electric kettle with a cup of tea placed nearby. She mentions that she even offered "readymade breakfast" to the passenger sitting next to her. "I mean to say that I don't even have a holiday here. My kitchen is still working," she says in the video.
She also claims that she had prepared tea for nearly 15 passengers earlier using the same kettle. The route or train on which she was travelling remains unknown.
Public Outrage Over Unsafe Appliance Use
The video triggered heated reactions online. Many questioned how she could endanger co-passengers by plugging in a high wattage appliance. Several users pointed out that charging sockets on trains are designed for low power devices and not for cooking equipment.
Safety concerns dominated the discussion, with many highlighting the potential risk of fire or damage to onboard electrical systems.
Railways Confirms Action and Issues Warning
After reviewing the incident, Central Railway clarified that electric kettles and similar appliances are strictly not allowed on trains. In its statement, the authority stressed the seriousness of the violation.
"Action is being initiated against the channel and the person concerned," Central Railway said. The statement added that using such appliances "can lead to fire incidence and be disastrous for other passengers also. May also cause disruption of electric supply and malfunction of the AC and other electronic ports in the Train."
Passengers have been urged to avoid using any personal heating appliances inside trains and immediately report similar actions to railway staff.
