Varun Gandhi To Contest Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Independently, If BJP Denies Ticket: Reports

According to the reports, BJP MP Varun Gandhi is likely to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024 independently, if the saffron front denies him a ticket this time. The reports added that BJP top brass may field a new face from the Pilibhit seat in Uttar Pradesh this time to deal with anti-incumbency.

However, the BJP has not made any official announcement for Varun Gandhi's constituency yet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced candidates for 51 seats in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and candidates for 24 seats are still to be decided. Reports suggested that BJP's top leadership may give a chance to Jitan Prasad from Pilibhit instead of Varun Gandhi this time.

In its earlier list of candidates, BJP repeated many big names Hema Malini, Ravi Kishan, Ajay Mishra Teni, Mahesh Sharma, SPS Baghel, and Sakshi Maharaj. While Ritesh Pandey, who switched recently from BSP to BJP, will contest from the Ambedkar Nagar constituency.

This time, the ruling BJP is eyeing a third term and has set a target to achieve more than 400 Lok Sabha seats. With a double-engine government slogan, the saffron party is trying to woo the maximum number of voters and seats from Uttar Pradesh, a state that plays a pivotal role in the formation of Government at the Center.

Meanwhile, social media speculations also suggest that if the BJP denied a ticket to Varun Gandhi this time, then the INDIA bloc may approach him and offer to join Congress, along with his supporters.

If this happened, then the BJP may face a big challenge in Pillibhit as Varun Gandhi has a stronghold in his constituency and may help INDIA Bloc secure this seat. Varun's personal vote bank along with help of Congress and the Samajwadi Party supporters, have the potential to defeat any candidate here.
