Vacancies reserved for backward classes to be filled by August
New Delhi, Dec 17: All vacancies reserved for scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward class categories in central government departments are to be filled up by August next year, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Thursday, Dec 17.
In a written reply, Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said based on the recommendations of the Committee headed by Secretary, Ministry of Social justice and Empowerment, time-bound action plan was communicated to all departments and ministries on November 20, last year to fill up the reserved vacancies by August 2016.
