Muraleedharan Questions Gehlot’s Intentions Behind Objecting VP’s Visits
Union Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan criticized the objections raised by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on the frequent visits of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar. He suggested that these objections reflect a lack of interest in the state's development and progress.
The Union Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, on September 29th in Kota Raj voiced his concern over Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's opposition to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar's frequent visits to the state. The minister suggested that such resistance indicates the chief minister's lack of interest in the development and progress of Rajasthan.
State Development or Political Tussle?

Muraleedharan highlighted that Dhankar is a son of Rajasthan and a farmer by origin. He expressed his belief that any visit from the President or Vice President can only be beneficial for a state, devoid of any political undertones. The Union Minister expressed surprise at Gehlot’s objections against these visits, interpreting it as an indication towards his disinterest in state development.
He was quoted saying on the sidelines of an inauguration event in Kota, "I am surprised why the chief minister here is objecting to such issue. It reflects that the chief minister is not interested in development and progress of the state." He further advised Gehlot to welcome Vice President warmly instead of opposing his regular visits.
Gehlot's Concerns
The senior Congress leader had voiced concerns about this matter during a rally on Thursday. He questioned Dhankar’s logic behind visiting five districts recently when elections are soon due. According to him, such actions could send out different messages which might not be good for democracy.
Allegation Over Avoidance Of Manipur Violence Issue
An allegation was made suggesting avoidance by Muraleedharan regarding addressing issues related to recent violence in Manipur. However, no further details were provided on this matter during this interaction with media personnel.
In conclusion, while Muraleedharan sees these high-profile visits as opportunities for state development, Gehlot perceives them as potential disruptions to the democratic process. The Union Minister's comments have sparked a fresh debate over the role of central leadership in state affairs and its impact on governance. As elections approach, it remains to be seen how this political tussle will unfold and what implications it might hold for Rajasthan's future.
