UGC NET December 2024 Dates Revised: Check New Exam Schedule Here
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the dates for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2024 cycle. According to the updated schedule, the exams will now take place between January 3 and January 16. Registered candidates can check the subject-wise schedule on the official website.
The official notification states that the UGC NET December 2024 will be held for the award of Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programmes. The test will cover 85 subjects and be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
Exams will be conducted in two shifts each day. The first shift will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, and the second shift will take place between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. The NTA will release exam city slips a week before the exams to help candidates plan their travel. Admit cards will follow shortly after.
The subject-wise schedule includes:
On January 3, exams will be held for subjects like Public Administration and Education in the morning shift, while Economics, Museology, and related fields are scheduled for the afternoon shift.
On January 6, Computer Science and Applications will take place in the morning, with Political Science, Comparative Literature, and Persian in the afternoon.
January 7 will feature Commerce and Yoga in the morning shift, with English in the afternoon.
January 8 covers subjects like Hindi, Assamese, Kannada, and Manipuri in the first shift, with Social Work, Music, and Indian Culture in the second shift.
January 9 includes Punjabi, Tamil, and Geography in the morning, while Management and Disaster Management will follow in the afternoon.
On January 10, History and Psychology are scheduled for the morning, with Anthropology and Tourism Administration in the afternoon.
January 15 will include Sanskrit and Mass Communication in the morning shift, with Criminology and Labour Welfare in the afternoon.
Finally, on January 16, Sociology, German, French, and Hindu Studies will be covered across both shifts.
