Two Youths Arrested Following Acid Attack on Schoolgirl in Kushinagar

A schoolgirl was attacked with acid by two young men in a village under Hanumanganj police jurisdiction. The suspects, Mukesh Rajbhar and Suraj Rajbhar, were apprehended within a day of the incident, according to Superintendent of Police Santosh Mishra. The attack stemmed from Mukesh's unreciprocated feelings towards the girl.

The incident occurred when the two men from Nebua Naurangia threw a flammable substance at the girl after she rejected Mukesh's advances. The girl's father filed a complaint with the police, demanding justice for his daughter. Authorities acted swiftly, registering a case and arresting the accused.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Mukesh had repeatedly tried to communicate with the minor girl but faced rejection each time. On Tuesday, he allegedly bought an agricultural chemical, mixed it with water, and filled it in a bottle with Suraj's assistance. They then travelled by motorcycle to the girl's home and attacked her.

The attack resulted in severe burns on the girl's face. She was immediately taken to the district hospital for treatment. Doctors reported that she did not suffer any serious injuries and is currently receiving medical care.

Legal Proceedings

Following their arrest, Mukesh and Suraj were presented in a local court and subsequently sent to jail. The swift action by law enforcement highlights their commitment to addressing such heinous crimes promptly.
