Two PFI offices used to set up Islamic rule in India attached by NIA

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached two offices of the Popular Front of India (PFI) in Jaipur and Kota, Rajasthan.

The NIA has also attached 10 bank accounts of the PFI.

The NIA is investigating the criminal conspiracy hatched by the leaders of the PFI in Rajasthan, who were aiming at driving a wedge between different communities in India through radicalisation. The banned outfit has also been conducting training of gullible Muslims in handling of weapons, the NIA said.

The NIA during the course of its probe also learnt that the PFI had been raising funds to carry out acts of terror and violence with the ultimate objective of establishing Islamic rule in India by 2047.

The offices of the PFI in Jaipur and Kota were being used by the accused persons for organising terror training camps. The NIA said that several gullible Muslim youth were being trained on the use of arms such as swords and knives. They were told to finalise their targets and kill them by attacking vulnerable parts of the body such as the head, neck and chest.

The NIA in a release said that the offices of the PFI had been attached under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Rajasthan has been high on the radar of the NIA since the murder of Kanaihya Lal. He was murdered by two radical Islamists in Udaipur after he had spoken out in favour of now suspended BJP spokesperson, Nupur Sharma.

A similar pattern had been found in the murder of Umesh Kolhe at Amaravati, Maharashtra. He too had spoken in favour of Nupur Sharma.

Since the ban on the PFI in September 2022, the NIA has conducted pan-India raids. The agency has booked and arrested scores of PFI members.

One of the biggest revelation that the NIA unearthed was that the PFI was in the process of setting up an Islamic rule in India by 2047. It had prepared a detailed document and circulated the same among its members. The document spoke about the various radicalisation programmes, which would help the outfit set up the Islamic rule in India.
