Two Men Accused of Raping Collegians Attacked by Lawyers Amid Outrage in Bhopal
On Monday, a group of lawyers allegedly attacked two individuals accused of raping three college girls. The incident occurred as police were escorting the accused from the district court in a jeep. Eyewitnesses reported that the lawyers, chanting slogans, hit the accused. Senior advocate Rajesh Vyas stated that young lawyers are particularly upset and are protesting this issue in an organised manner.

One of the accused, Saif Ali, was safely escorted away by police. When questioned about another accused seen with a saffron cloth, a police official clarified that it was not provided by them. The cloth might have been taken from the vehicle to cover himself, according to the official.
Accusations and Legal Actions
Three girls from a private college in Bhopal were allegedly raped and blackmailed by men who hid their identities. Police have registered a case against three individuals under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the MP Freedom of Religion Act. The incident was reported on April 18 when one victim approached Bag Sewania police station.
Farhan Ali, also known as Faraz, is one of the accused and a former student of the college. He allegedly befriended one girl two years ago while concealing his identity. He is accused of raping her, recording a video, and then blackmailing her. His two friends reportedly used similar tactics on other victims.
Community Reaction and Ongoing Protests
The legal community's reaction has been intense, with protests continuing over this incident. Rajesh Vyas mentioned that if such incidents happen again, those involved will face consequences. The protests are expected to persist as lawyers demand justice for the victims.
The first victim revealed that she was coerced into introducing her friends to the accused's associates. These associates then sexually assaulted and blackmailed them as well. This revelation has sparked outrage among local residents and legal professionals alike.
This case highlights ongoing concerns about safety and justice for women in India. It underscores the need for stringent measures to protect victims and ensure swift legal action against perpetrators.
