Two day Konkani literary festival from August 23

Mangalore, July 21: A two day state level meet of the Konkani Literary and Cultural Sammelan (Konkani Sahitya Samskrithi Sammelan), would be held at Manipal near here on August 23 and 24.

The event aimed at the development of literary and cultural aspects of the Konkani communities. Forty one communities speaking Konkani language would take part in the meet, said Kasaragod Chinna, convenor of the event.

Literary seminars, poets' meet, plays, and cultural programmes in Konkani language would be held and novels and anthologies of Konkani poems would be released, he said in a release.

A Konkani book exhibition will be held at the venue and Konkani cuisine would be on display along with a painting exhibition.

Veteran journalist M V Kamath had been chosen as the President of the 'Sammelan'.
