Thrown Out From Delhi Assembly In 2015, BJP's Vijender Gupta Will Be New Speaker
Senior BJP leader Vijender Gupta, who was once forcibly thrown out of the Delhi assembly by the materials, will be the new Speaker aka head of the house in CM Rekha Gupta's government. A video went viral in 2015, showing Vijender Gupta, MLA from Rohini, lifted on his shoulders by the security materials taking him out after an argument over remarks by OP Sharma, another BJP leader, against Alka Lamba, who was then in Aam Aadmi Party, and now it seems like that the circle has completed and it is Vijender Gupta's turn to avenge what AAP did to BJP leader.
Today, Vijender Gupta returned to the same Assembly as Speaker after the BJP's thumping victory in the recently concluded 2025 Delhi elections. BJP won 48 seats this time and Gupta once again retained his Rohini seat.

Expressing gratitude to his party for this role, he stated his commitment to ensuring productive discussions in the House.
Focus on Accountability
Vijender Gupta's return is expected to challenge the AAP further. Following his recent election win, he vowed to present 14 pending reports by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) concerning the former AAP government. These reports allegedly reveal financial misconduct and false promises made by AAP.
Gupta accused AAP of obstructing BJP MLAs' attempts to table these CAG reports previously. His past role included serving as the Leader of the Opposition. Meanwhile, Rekha Gupta emerged as Delhi's new Chief Minister, becoming the fourth woman to hold this position in the city.
Rekha Gupta's Unexpected Rise
Rekha Gupta, a first-time MLA from Shalimar Bagh, was surprised by her appointment as Chief Minister. Initially attending a meeting with no expectations, she learned that Parvesh Verma had proposed her name for the role. Verma joins five other BJP leaders in forming Delhi's new cabinet.
