Telangana Showcases ₹3 Lakh Crore Investment Drive and AI Ambitions

Hyderabad, portraying it as a turning point in the economic and technological development of the state. Reddy underlined the state's drive for innovation, investment, and inclusive development when addressing a group of technology experts and business executives.

The Chief Minister commended Sonata Software for being a leader in artificial intelligence and stated that the company's focus is in line with Telangana's larger plan to modernise its economy. He emphasised Telangana's rise as a global investment destination, pointing out that since December 2023, the state has drawn ₹3 lakh crore in investments and created more than 100,000 employment in the private sector.

Reddy highlighted Telangana's impressive performance at the 2024 World Economic Forum in Davos, where the state received ₹1.78 lakh crore in investment. These were mostly the outcome of high-profile investor meetings held in the United States, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. "Telangana means business," Reddy proclaimed, establishing the state as a serious destination for global investment.

He stated that Hyderabad has emerged as a hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), AI-enabled data centres, and life sciences research and development. Major companies such as Microsoft, Cognisant, HCL Technologies, Infosys, and Wipro have all established their operations in the city, cementing its reputation as a technology and innovation hub.

Reddy highlighted current Government of India data to highlight advances in various areas during his rule, including law and order, inflation management, job creation, and tax revenue collection. He cited these indicators as evidence of the state's good administration and forward-thinking policies.

The Chief Minister also highlighted inclusive actions implemented by his government. These included the recruitment of transgender people as traffic volunteers, the establishment of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam to promote youth entrepreneurship, and what he claimed as the country's largest women's empowerment initiative, based on Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

Looking ahead, Reddy outlined plans for infrastructure and education-related projects such as a dry port, the creation of a "Future City" that includes an AI City, and a new effort called "Young India" that will construct universities centred on skills, sports, and integrated education.

Reddy concluded his remarks by calling for a collective effort to assist Telangana achieve its goal of being a $1 trillion economy. He exhorted the audience to serve as worldwide ambassadors for Hyderabad. "Become brand ambassadors of Hyderabad and share our achievements globally," he suggested.
