Telangana Election Results 2023: Will BJP Support BRS Along With AIMIM To Stop Congress From Forming Govt?
The exit polls for the Telangana Assembly elections 2023 have predicted a hung assembly, with no party winning a clear majority. This has led to speculation about whether the BJP will support the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (BRS) along with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) to stop the Congress from forming a government.
As per official Election Commission of India data as counting of votes progressed in Telangana, Congress was leading on 51 while BRS was leading on 29 the BJP led in 6 seats and the CPI had 1 seat as per Election Commission trends. It must be noted that the simple majority mark to form government in the southern state is 60 seats.

However, the BJP has not yet made any official announcement about its stance, but there are some indications that it may be willing to support the BRS. The BJP and the BRS have had a cordial relationship in the past, and they have even collaborated on some projects. Additionally, the BJP is not ideologically opposed to the BRS, and both parties are considered to be Hindu nationalist parties.
However, there are also some reasons why the BJP may be hesitant to support the BRS. First, the BJP is aware that the AIMIM is a controversial party, and supporting it could alienate some of its own voters. Second, the BJP may be concerned that supporting the BRS would be seen as a sign of weakness. The BJP is the largest party in India, and it does not want to be seen as having to rely on the support of smaller parties.
If the BJP does decide to support the BRS, it will be a significant development. It would mark the first time that the BJP has formed an alliance with a regional party in Telangana. It would also be a major setback for the Congress, which has been hoping to make a comeback in Telangana.
