Surya Grahan 2025 India Date And Time: Here's How To Watch Solar Eclipse, Places And Other Details Inside
When the Moon positions itself between the Earth and the Sun, blocking the Sun's light either partially or fully, a solar eclipse occurs. This phenomenon, termed Surya Grahan in India, is not only a magnificent spectacle that darkens the sky temporarily but also holds significant cultural, scientific, and astronomical value worldwide. In 2025, the Earth will witness two partial solar eclipses, offering a unique opportunity for skywatchers across various continents to observe this awe-inspiring event.
The year 2025 is set to feature two notable partial solar eclipses. The initial eclipse is scheduled for March 29, 2025, with timings from 08:50 AM to 12:43 PM UTC. This celestial event will be observable in numerous regions, including Europe, northern Asia, parts of North and South America, as well as the Atlantic and Arctic regions. Countries where enthusiasts can witness the eclipse encompass Bermuda, Portugal, Canada, the USA, among others. However, it's worth noting that this spectacle will not be visible from India.

Following the March event, a second partial eclipse is anticipated on September 21, 2025. This eclipse will take place from 5:29 PM to 9:53 PM UTC and will be visible in the southern Australian regions, alongside the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, extending to Antarctica. Observers in locations such as Tuvalu, Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia will have the opportunity to experience this phenomenon. Like the March eclipse, this event will also not be observable from India.
How To Watch Solar Eclipse?
Viewing a solar eclipse is an exhilarating experience, but it demands certain precautions to protect one's eyesight. It is crucial to utilize eclipse glasses, which are specifically designed to protect the eyes from the harmful rays of the sun during an eclipse.
- Unlike regular sunglasses, eclipse glasses provide the necessary protection to safely enjoy the event.
- Observers are strongly advised against looking directly at the sun without appropriate protective gear, as doing so can cause severe damage to the eyes.
