In a bold declaration, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) working president and Baramati Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule revealed that she had two choices before her: power and struggle. Standing firm in her decision, she chose the path of struggle, aligning herself with her father, Sharad Pawar, rather than seeking power alongside Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah.
Power vs. Struggle: A Defining Choice
Addressing a public meeting in Indapur, Sule emphasized the importance of standing up for truth and justice, even in the face of challenges. She asserted, "I had two options, power and struggle. On the side of struggle, there was my father, and on the side of power was Amit Shah. I had to choose between power and struggle. I chose struggle."
Speaking Truth to Power
Sule's words resonated with the audience as she urged them not to succumb to fear and intimidation. She passionately stated, "Do not forget the person who has given you birth. Someone has to say the truth. If we all get scared, there will be no democracy in the country. Today, we were sabotaged. Tomorrow you will meet the same fate."
NCP Split and the Road Ahead
Sule's remarks come in the wake of the split within the NCP on July 2 this year, when Ajit Pawar and eight MLAs joined the Eknath Shinde government. Despite this setback, Sule and several others chose to remain loyal to party founder Sharad Pawar, demonstrating their commitment to the party's principles.
Staying Grounded in Baramati
In a significant move, Sule announced her decision to stay in Baramati for the next 10 months, focusing on her constituency and preparing for the upcoming elections. She shared, "I told my family that I would be staying in Baramati for the next 10 months and would not be coming to Mumbai."
Crucial Months Ahead
Recognizing the importance of the upcoming elections, Sule emphasized the need for collective action and determination. She asserted, "The coming elections will be paramount for the country, and that is why the next few months will be very crucial for all of us to decide the fate of the next five years."
Supriya Sule's unwavering commitment to struggle over power and her dedication to her constituency set a powerful example for political leaders across the country. As India gears up for crucial elections in the coming months, her words serve as a reminder of the importance of truth, courage, and unwavering determination in shaping the nation's future.
