Sudden Cardiac Deaths Have No Link With COVID-19 Vaccines: Health Ministry Clears The Air
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a strong clarification amid growing public concerns about the safety of COVID-19 vaccines and their alleged link to sudden deaths. Citing comprehensive research by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the ministry affirmed that no evidence exists to suggest a rise in heart attack-related deaths due to COVID-19 vaccination.
According to detailed studies by ICMR and the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the vaccines administered in India are both safe and effective, with severe side effects being extremely rare. These findings reinforce the robust safety profile of the vaccines used during the pandemic.

Multiple Factors Behind Sudden Cardiac Deaths
The ministry emphasized that sudden cardiac deaths can result from a range of underlying factors such as genetic predisposition, unhealthy lifestyle choices, pre-existing medical conditions, and complications following a COVID-19 infection itself. These factors, rather than vaccination, are often the true contributors to such incidents.
Scientific Consensus Against Misinformation
Public health experts have consistently debunked claims linking COVID-19 vaccines to sudden deaths, labeling such narratives as scientifically unfounded and misleading. The ministry's statement aligns with the global scientific consensus, urging the public not to fall for misinformation.
This clarification serves as a reassurance to the public and underscores the government's commitment to transparency and evidence-based healthcare. The Ministry reiterated that vaccination remains a critical tool in preventing severe illness and saving lives, and encouraged continued public confidence in the national immunization program.
