Students Careers At Stake As Several FIITJEE Coaching Centers Shut Across UP, Delhi; Here's Why
At least eight FIITJEE coaching centres have unexpectedly closed in the past week in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. This has left many students and parents upset as board and entrance exams approach. The closures occurred after numerous teachers resigned due to unpaid salaries, according to officials.
The affected FIITJEE centres are located in Noida, Ghaziabad, Bhopal, Varanasi, Delhi, and Patna. The most recent closure was in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Initially, the Meerut centre attempted to bring in teachers from Noida, but this arrangement only lasted a few days before the centre had to shut down.

Parents Demand Answers
Many parents have lodged police complaints against the private coaching institution for not providing any notice or refunds. Photos and videos have surfaced showing parents protesting outside the now-closed branches of the institute.
"Several FIITJEE coaching institutes were shut around six months ago in some states...After that, they told us that these centers would not shut down and that we should make the payments. I have invested Rs 6 lakh already...they took everyone's money and told us that classes would go on. Even when the teachers left, they said we would still manage," a parent of a student studying at the FIITJEE institute in Meerut said.
Financial Crisis Speculation
Another parent who recently paid a Rs 4 lakh fee shared their concerns: "An outgoing FIITJEE teacher told us that most faculty members are leaving as they have not been paid salaries for several months." This statement highlights ongoing issues within the institution.
FIITJEE is reportedly facing financial difficulties amid rumours of administrative and civic actions against its branches for breaching licensing and fire safety regulations. This crisis has emerged just after the academic session ended for students taking JEE Mains on January 22, 23, and 24 - an entrance exam for engineering colleges and a preliminary test for IIT admission.
Background of FIITJEE
Founded in 1992 by DK Goel, a mechanical engineering graduate from IIT Delhi, FIITJEE provides specialised training for engineering entrance exams and NEET coaching. The institute reportedly operates 72 centres across 41 cities with over 300 employees.
