Snake In The Secretariat: Poisonous Snake Discovered In IAS Officer’s Vehicle
A dramatic scene unfolded at the state secretariat's parking lot on Wednesday afternoon when a snake was spotted in the car of an IAS officer, sending security staff and onlookers into a frenzy.
The unexpected discovery occurred in the vehicle belonging to Raghuraj M R, Secretary for Technical Education and Skill Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The snake, which was believed to be poisonous, had slithered into the bonnet of the car, evoking panic among the staff.

Efforts to rescue the reptile extended over an hour. Initially, a local snake-catcher was called in, but he declined to extract the snake from the confines of the car. This prompted authorities to summon a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). After over 30 minutes of meticulous work, the team successfully captured the snake, much to the relief of everyone present.
The incident drew a sizable crowd, with drivers, security personnel, and secretariat staff gathering to watch the rescue operation. Amid the chaos, another car was arranged to transport the IAS officer for his scheduled lunch meeting, as the snake was believed to have been inside the vehicle for several hours.
Social Media Buzz
The unusual occurrence highlighted the need for vigilance in parking areas and underscored the expertise of SDRF teams in handling such situations. No injuries were reported, and the snake was safely removed from the premises.
Meanwhile, the clip of the incident has gone viral. Responding to the situation, one social media user said, "This is very dangerous. Today the country would have lost an IAS officer if they had not found out earlier."
Adding humour to the situation, a user said, "The snake catcher is handling the snake in the same way IAS officers handle the common people."
