Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde's Balaji Kinikar Eyes 4th MLA Term From Ambernath, Asks For Votes On Development Done
In the Ambernath constituency, reserved for Scheduled Castes, Balaji Kinikar of the Shiv Sena Shinde faction is aiming to become an MLA for the fourth time. On the last day for filing nominations, Kinikar, accompanied by hundreds of Mahayuti supporters, submitted his papers. Rajesh Wankhede from the Shiv Sena Thackeray group is contesting against him. A decade ago, in 2014, Kinikar defeated Wankhede by three thousand votes.
Ambernath's political landscape has evolved since its establishment in 1978. Initially dominated by Janata Party candidates, Congress later gained control. However, in the nineties, Shiv Sena emerged victorious with Sabir Shaikh winning three consecutive terms in 1990, 1995, and 1999. In 2004, NCP's Kisan Kathare narrowly defeated Shaikh. Since then, Shiv Sena has maintained a stronghold over this constituency.

Development Initiatives Boost Mahayuti's Prospects
The Mahayuti government has undertaken significant development projects in Ambernath over the past five years. Recently, they approved an enhanced water supply plan for Badlapur and Ambernath city. The Ambernath scheme is nearing completion and has provided an additional seven million cubic meters of water from Ulhas River to quench the area's thirst.
Furthermore, last year saw the approval of a government medical college in Ambernath to help aspiring doctors among common students. Additionally, funds amounting to Rs 82 crores were allocated for improvements at Ambernath railway station. A Rs 14 crore fund was also sanctioned last year for internal roads within the city through Kinikar's initiative.
Infrastructure Developments Address Traffic Concerns
The Grand Alliance has addressed traffic congestion issues in Ambernath city through several initiatives. The Satis project was approved to manage traffic jams effectively. Under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's leadership, multi-storied parking buildings have been constructed here.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde sanctioned a fund of Rs 81 crore 53 lakh for both the station and Satis project during an MMRDA meeting. This project has relieved residents from daily traffic woes around Ambernath station area and will be crucial for voters in upcoming elections.
Kinikar's chances of winning a fourth term are bolstered by these development efforts and BJP's strength in this constituency. Moreover, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde successfully resolved internal disputes within Shiv Sena which further strengthens Kinikar's position here.
The Lok Sabha constituency includes Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s son MP Shrikant Shinde’s special Laksha Constituency. This connection enhances Balaji Kinikar’s prospects of securing another victory from this region under Mahayuti banner.
With numerous multi-crore schemes benefiting thousands across various sectors like infrastructure and education being implemented under Mahayuti leadership; their influence remains strong throughout Dharashiv as well as other regions such as Tulsi Vrindavan where hemp tree plantations are planned by Fadnavis-led initiatives.
