Respect for PM Modi, support for Bommai: Sudeep
Sudeep on Wednesday said that he will campaign for Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai out of respect while clarifying that he is not joining politics.
Addressing a press meet in Bengaluru, the Kannada superstar said that Bommai was one of the few people who stood behind him during his struggling days. So, he considers it is his duty to support him.

He said, "There were a few who stood by me during my initial days in the film industry. Basavaraj uncle is one of those persons who helped me then. So, it is my duty and gratitude to support him.
On asking whether he is supporting just Bommai or the BJP as a party, he said, "I will campaign for Bommai uncle and whoever he tells me to campaign," However, he pointed out that he cannot campaign for all 224 candidates.
On asking whether the fans might be okay with his decision to support the BJP, he said, "I have earned their love and support in the last 27 years through my hard work and I do not think they will have an issue with me over a certain decision,"
Sudeep on PM Modi
Kiccha Sudeep hailed PM Modi's government saying that many good works have taken place under his leadership. "I have also been in India. I have been a citizen, I am paying my taxes, so when I see certain developments happening and good things happening, I will have my opinion," he stated.
"India is going up today. I totally respect certain decisions taken by him. As an Indian I totally respect it, but that has nothing to do with me sitting next to Bommai uncle," he stated.

When asked about the corruption allegations against the BJP government, he felt that one cannot be 100 per cent happy with any government. "We believe in the law of the land. If there is corruption, then the law will take its stand. So, it was not right to talk about accusations. I have my support for good reasons."
The Karnataka Chief Minister stated that Sudeep was supporting him and the press meet would have been conducted in the BJP office if he was extending support to the saffron party.
Nonetheless, he expressed happiness over Sudeep extending support to him. "He is very popular. It will give power to BJP. We will win with a clear margin. The public will support the double-engine government in the state," he added.
