Red Fort Blast Leaves Families in Distress Outside LNJP Hospital Awaiting News of Victims

A devastating car explosion near the Red Fort on Monday evening resulted in at least eight fatalities and 24 injuries. The blast, which occurred at 6:52 pm, destroyed several vehicles and left many critically injured. In the aftermath, families gathered outside LNJP Hospital, desperate for news about their loved ones. The atmosphere was filled with confusion and grief as relatives struggled to get information.

Chaos and Mismanagement at Hospital

Many family members expressed frustration over the lack of communication and organisation at the hospital. Sudheer Sharma from Rohtas Nagar shared that his son, Ankush Sharma, was severely injured and is fighting for his life in the ICU. Ankush had visited the Gauri Shankar temple with his friend Rahul Kaushik, who was discharged after receiving stitches.

Zeeshan Ansari, whose brother-in-law Dawd was injured, said, "He called me after the incident. We rushed here immediately, but have not been allowed to see him till now." Similarly, Mohammad Danish received a call from a stranger about his cousin Sameer Khan, an auto-rickshaw driver injured in the blast. Danish said Sameer is in the ICU, but they are still unaware of his condition.

Desperate Families Seek Information

Tahir Mohammad, another relative of Sameer Khan, expressed frustration over being denied access to see him. An elderly man was seen pleading with police and hospital staff to check on his son. After a heated exchange, he was finally allowed inside. Many people criticised the hospital's management for poor communication and unclear directions.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited LNJP Hospital to assess the situation firsthand. Meanwhile, major agencies including Delhi Police, NIA, NSG, and forensic teams are investigating the explosion's cause. Families continue to wait anxiously for updates on their loved ones' conditions amidst this tragedy.
