Rajasthan CM Launches 5-Day Blitz Against Mining Mafia, Deploys Drones

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma initiated a five-day operation to combat illegal mining, deploying drones and advanced technology to curb gravel mining and enforce strict regulations across the state.

In a bid to curb illegal mining, especially of gravel, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed officials to launch a five-day operation against the mining mafia in the state. Chairing a meeting of the mines and geology department, Sharma emphasized the need for strict and effective action to combat this illicit activity.

Joint Campaign and Use of Technology

To ensure the success of the operation, Sharma has ordered a joint campaign involving the police, district administrations, forest department, transport department, and mines department. Drones and other modern technology will be deployed to monitor and detect illegal mining activities across the state.

Task Force Formation

Recognizing the importance of sustained efforts, Sharma has also directed the formation of a task force headed by the chief secretary to specifically address the issue of illegal mining. This task force will work towards preventing such activities and ensuring strict enforcement of the law.

Strict Action and Regular Monitoring

The chief minister has instructed district superintendents of police to take stringent action against individuals involved in illegal mining. He has also stressed the need for regular auctions of mining leases to ensure compliance with regulations. Furthermore, officials from the mines department have been tasked with submitting regular reports on illegal mining and presenting a comprehensive report on the actions taken in the past 10 days.

With these measures, the Rajasthan government aims to effectively combat illegal mining and promote responsible mining practices across the state. The joint efforts of various departments and the use of technology are expected to yield positive results in curbing this illicit activity.
