No-Confidence Motion: Rahul Gandhi Slams Govt Over Manipur Violence, Calls It 'Bharat Mata Ki Hatya'
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi took the floor in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday to deliver his address regarding the No Confidence Motion against the Narendra Modi-led government. In his opening statement, Gandhi expressed gratitude for his reinstatement as a member of the Lok Sabha, saying, "First of all, I would like to thank you for reinstating me."

Addressing the House, Gandhi referred to his previous remarks and the focus on issues like Adani that might have caused discomfort among senior politicians. He stated, "When I spoke the last time, I probably hurt you... because I focused so much on Adani, because of your senior leaders." However, he clarified that his speech this time would not be centered on Adani.
Citing the renowned Persian poet Rumi, Gandhi conveyed his intention to present his thoughts from the heart rather than launching an aggressive assault on the BJP. "I want to speak from my heart today. I won't launch a fierce attack on the government today like I always do," he stated. Gandhi highlighted the ongoing "Bharat Jodo Yatra" and discussed its underlying purpose.
Touching on his visit to Manipur, he juxtaposed his experience with the absence of Prime Minister Modi in the state, implying that the PM might not consider Manipur an integral part of India. He further noted the changes in Manipur's situation, attributing them to PM Modi's decision to divide the state.

In a poignant recollection, Rahul Gandhi shared an encounter from his visit to Manipur, recounting the poignant story of a woman who spent a night beside her deceased son's body. This emotional tale was presented by the Congress leader as an example of the struggles faced by people in the violence-affected state.
In his address to the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi stated, "You (the government) have killed 'Bharat Mata'."
"You are not a patriot but a traitor who has caused harm to Bharat Mata. You have killed my mother, Manipur. I have one mother here, and you have taken the life of another mother, Manipur," stated Rahul Gandhi.
"Lanka was not set ablaze by Lord Hanumana, and Ravana was not slain by Lord Rama; it was Ravana's hubris that led to his demise," remarked Rahul Gandhi.
The Lok Sabha echoed with commotion as Rahul Gandhi initiated his address on the state of Manipur, which has been impacted by violence. He emphasized that Prime Minister Modi has never visited this northeastern state, implying that it might not be perceived as an integral part of India by him.
Amid all this Om Birla said,"The kind of behaviour you are doing coming to the table, it's not right. House can't run like this. Action will be taken against MPs who've come to the table."
