Punjab’s Sports Revolution: Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann Lay Foundation For 3,100 Stadiums

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have created history by laying the foundation stone for 3,100 sports stadiums across Punjab, at a cost of ₹1,194 crore. The event, held in Bathinda, marked a turning point not only for Punjab but for the entire nation.

For the first time, any government has decided to build modern sports infrastructure in villages, a step long limited to major cities. The Mann government's initiative aims to provide youth with state-of-the-art facilities in their own hometowns. Each stadium will include tracks and grounds for volleyball, football, hockey, and athletics, along with separate areas for local sports. Sports equipment will be supplied by the government, and youth clubs in each village will manage and maintain the facilities to ensure sustainability and community participation.

A Decisive Battle Against Drugs

Punjab has been waging an aggressive war against drug trafficking in recent months. Chief Minister Mann stated that previous governments allowed drugs to infiltrate homes and destroy generations, but the current administration has taken unprecedented action.
Large-scale seizures and arrests of top drug lords have taken place, with many kingpins now behind bars and their properties confiscated. "Those who once thought they were untouchable are now rotting in jail," Mann said, adding that no one involved in drug trafficking will be spared in Punjab.

Sports as the New Path for Youth

The initiative also symbolizes a new foundation for Punjab's youth. The government believes that sports can be a powerful tool to steer young people away from addiction. Mann proudly noted that four of India's current national team captains are Punjabis and expressed confidence that many more champions will rise from these villages in the future.

Jobs and Entrepreneurship Drive

The Mann government has already provided 55,000 government jobs purely on merit - without bribes or political recommendations. In addition, over 400,000 private sector job opportunities have been generated as industries return to invest in Punjab.

The next major step, the CM announced, will be to introduce entrepreneurship programs in colleges, ensuring that graduates become job creators rather than job seekers.

Reviving the Spirit of 'Rangla Punjab'

From fighting drugs to building playgrounds, from creating jobs to promoting business, Punjab is undergoing a major transformation. Villages are regaining their vitality, youth are returning to the fields, and drug networks are being dismantled.

The same soil that once gave India its captains, athletes, and martyrs is now preparing a new generation of champions. With this initiative, Punjab is reclaiming its identity as "Rangla Punjab" - vibrant, strong, and full of hope.
