Pune Top Cop Reveals Misdirection in Fatal Porsche Crash Investigation
In a tragic incident that shook Pune, a Porsche involved in a fatal accident, resulting in the death of two IT professionals, has led to a complex investigation and widespread outcry. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar disclosed details of the case, revealing attempts to mislead the probe by claiming the vehicle was not driven by the 17-year-old son of real estate developer Vishal Agarwal at the time of the accident. The incident, which occurred in the Kalyani Nagar area on May 19, has seen six individuals arrested, including Vishal Agarwal. Despite police requests for extended custody, a local court has remanded all accused to judicial custody until June 7. The investigation has since been transferred to the crime branch, highlighting the seriousness of the case.Commissioner Kumar emphasized that evidence, including CCTV footage, clearly indicates the teenager was behind the wheel after consuming alcohol. This contradicts initial claims made by a driver employed by the Agarwal family, who initially took responsibility for the accident. The police are investigating why this misleading information was provided. The case has drawn attention not only for the tragic loss of Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta but also for the handling of the aftermath. Allegations have surfaced regarding a delayed collection of blood samples from the juvenile and reports of him being served pizza post-incident, which Kumar clarified did not occur at the police station but is under internal investigation. In response to public outrage and demands for accountability, two police officials from Yerawada police station have been suspended for lapses in duty. The Juvenile Justice Board initially granted bail to the teenager, asking him to write a 300-word essay. However, following a review plea by police and public outcry, he was remanded to an observation home till June 5.The parents of Awadhiya and Koshta have called for the Supreme Court to monitor both the investigation and trial, expressing a desire for it to be conducted in Madhya Pradesh rather than Pune. Their demands underscore their determination to seek justice for their children's untimely deaths. This case not only highlights issues surrounding underage drinking and driving but also raises questions about accountability and justice in tragic circumstances. As investigations continue and legal proceedings unfold, many await answers and actions that might prevent such incidents in the future.
