"Pump" Mastermind Granted Interim Bail by Allahabad High Court for Daughter's Wedding
"Pump", the alleged mastermind behind the June 2022 violence in Prayagraj, has been granted one-week interim bail by the Allahabad High Court to attend his daughter's wedding.
In a recent development from Prayagraj, the Allahabad High Court has granted one-week interim bail to Javed Mohammad alias Javed "Pump", who is allegedly the mastermind behind the June 2022 violence in Prayagraj. The interim bail has been granted to allow him to attend his daughter’s wedding. This decision comes as a significant update in the case that had drawn widespread attention last year.

Javed gained notoriety following his alleged involvement in the Atala violence on June 10 last year. The area witnessed severe unrest and arson after Friday prayers which resulted in several policemen being injured due to stone-pelting. Additionally, a truck and some motorcycles were set ablaze during this incident. As per reports, it was Javed who had called for a protest against controversial statements made by a BJP leader about Prophet Mohammad.
The Legal Proceedings
An FIR was registered against Javed under the Gangster Act in August 2023 for his alleged role in inciting these violent incidents. Following this, he filed an application for interim bail which was heard by Justice UC Sharma of Allahabad High Court.
Granting of Interim Bail
After hearing all parties involved, Justice UC Sharma allowed Javed's interim bail plea while laying out specific conditions and observations. In his statement, Justice Sharma said: "The applicant is granted one week interim bail i.e., from October 17th to October 23rd, 2023 to attend the marriage ceremonies of his daughter." He further added that Javed must surrender himself back into custody at District Jail Deoria on October 24th post completion of the bail period.
Security Measures and Medical Examination
The court also issued directives regarding security arrangements and medical examinations. The Superintendent of Police/Commissioner of the concerned districts was instructed to ensure proper security for Javed during his bail period. Furthermore, the court also mandated that he should be medically examined upon his departure from jail and on his re-entry.
In conclusion, this decision by Allahabad High Court marks a significant turn in the ongoing legal proceedings against Javed Mohammad alias Javed Pump. While it allows him a brief respite to attend personal matters, it continues to hold him accountable for his alleged actions during last year's violence in Prayagraj. This case will continue to draw attention as further developments unfold.
