Political Storm Over Disha Salian Case As Her Father Moves Bombay HC, Seeks FIR Against Aaditya Thackeray
The death of Disha Salian has once again ignited a political storm after her father, Satish Salian, moved the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh investigation. In his plea, he has urged the court to direct the registration of an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and to transfer the case to the CBI for an independent probe.
Allegations of Cover-Up and Foul Play
The petition filed by Satish Salian claims that his daughter was brutally raped and murdered and that the incident was covered up to shield influential figures. Initially, he trusted the investigation but now he has realised that the probe was a deliberate attempt to suppress the truth. The plea criticizes Mumbai Police for closing the case hastily, calling it a suicide or accidental death without adequately considering forensic evidence, circumstantial proof, or eyewitness accounts.

Support from Sushant Singh Rajput's Father
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput's father, KK Singh, has extended his support to Satish Salian's legal move. In his statement, he emphasized that a fresh probe could bring clarity not just to Disha's case but also to his son's death. "What he (Disha's father) has done is right. At least there will be a conclusion-was it suicide or murder? This could also reveal the truth about Sushant's case. The new government is different from the previous one, and we have high hopes that the current Chief Minister will ensure justice," he stated.
Disha Salian, who was a former manager of Sushant Singh Rajput, had died under mysterious circumstances, just a week before the actor's alleged suicide.
Political Reactions and Accusations
The case has sparked sharp political reactions, with Shiv Sena (UBT), BJP, and NCP-SCP leaders giving varied statements.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve claimed that Aaditya Thackeray is a young, capable leader, and accused the BJP of attempting to defame him through political pressure. "We don't need to respond to this conspiracy. The court will," he asserted.
Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad pointed to the CID report, stating that there was no political angle, nor any solid evidence of murder or rape in the case. He urged political parties to refrain from using the tragedy for political gains.
NCP-SCP MLA Rohit Pawar backed Aaditya Thackeray, expressing confidence in his innocence while claiming that the BJP is reviving the issue ahead of elections in Bihar and Mumbai.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut dismissed the allegations, calling it a political ploy. He defended the police investigation and accused the BJP of using the case as a diversion tactic after their recent Aurangzeb issue failed to gain traction.
Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat, however, insisted that Disha's death was suspicious, supporting the demand for a fresh probe and stating that anyone found guilty will face jail time.
Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh (NCP-SCP), while gathering details on the case, hinted that the latest developments may be part of a larger political conspiracy.
