PM Modi To Meditate At Vivekananda Memorial After Lok Sabha Campaign
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meditate for two days at the Vivekananda Memorial in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. This will happen after the campaign for the 18th Lok Sabha elections ends on May 30. The opposition, including Congress and CPM, has asked the Election Commission to stop this. Mamata Banerjee is also uneasy about this meditation.
Meditation is believed to give mental strength. PM Modi meditates whenever he can. After his meditation sessions in 2014 and 2019, the election results were surprising.

In 2014, after the 16th Lok Sabha campaign, Modi went to Pratapgarh in Maharashtra. He meditated there in silence among high mountains and sea waves. This place is linked to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
On May 16, 2014, BJP won a full majority with 282 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Later that year, BJP formed a government in Maharashtra with Shiv Sena, defeating Congress.
In 2019, after the Lok Sabha campaign, Modi went to Kedarnath in Uttarakhand. He spent a night meditating in a holy cave there. His meditation pictures went viral.
On May 23, 2019, BJP won 303 seats and NDA won 353 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Two months later, the Modi government removed Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.
In Uttarakhand, BJP retained power in the 2022 Assembly elections despite doubts about their chances.
In 2024, Modi will meditate in Kanyakumari after the election campaign. He aims for BJP to win 370 seats and has given the slogan of '400 plus' for NDA. The opposition is worried about this.
Modi said in an interview on May 20 that BJP was the largest party in South India in 2019 and will be again this time. He expects a big increase in seat share and vote share in South India.
Out of the 543 Lok Sabha seats, South India has 131 seats. Tamil Nadu has the most with 39 seats. Modi has worked hard to grow BJP's base in South India, especially Tamil Nadu. More than one-third of his visits in the last three years were to these states.
Modi visited Tamil Nadu seven times alone in 2024. BJP aims for a big win in Tamil Nadu's 2026 Assembly elections. K Annamalai, BJP's state president and former IPS officer, plays a key role in this campaign.
Political experts expect a big jump in BJP's vote share in Tamil Nadu for the current Lok Sabha elections. Annamalai believes Dravidian politics will end by the 2026 elections.
