PM Modi holds 26-km long road show in Bengaluru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking out a massive roadshow in Bengaluru on Saturday.

He will be covering at least 18 Assembly constituencies in the city, while campaigning for the Karnataka assembly election which will be held on May 10.

"The bond between Bengaluru and BJP is an old and strong one. This city has supported our party since the early days and we have made numerous efforts for its growth," PM Modi tweeted minutes before he started the roadshow.

The Prime Minister also said that the BJP is seeking the "blessings of the people of Bengaluru" based on its track record."

The 'Namma Karnataka' roadshow will be held in two phases in Bengaluru Central and Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituencies.

On Saturday, the roadshow will start from JP Nagar Brigade Millennium, Sarakki junction, South end circle, Krishna Rao park, Ramakrishna Ashram, Makkala Koota, town hall, Kaveri Bhawan, Majestic, Magadi road, GT World Mall, housing board, Basaveshwara Nagar, Shankara Math circle, Modi hospital road, Navarang circle, Mahkavi Kuvempu road, Malleswaram circle, Sampige road, and Maramma temple circle.


On Sunday, PM Modi's roadshow will pass through BEMEL circle, Thippsandra main road, ESI hospital, CMH road, Indiranagar, Halasur police station, MG road and Brigade road.

Nearly 10 lakh people are expected to join PM Modi's roadshow over the weekend.

However, the BJP had planned an extensive road show in Bengaluru, but the plan went for changes due to the NEET examinations.

"On account of NEET exams on the 7th of May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed us to prepone the 26 km road show to the 6th of May and shorten the roadshow distance on the 7th to conclude it before 11.30 am," tweeted BJP Yuva Morcha National President Tejasvi Surya.

As per the earlier plan, the PM was scheduled for a 10-km roadshow on Saturday and on Sunday it was 26 km.
