PM Modi: Opposition Committed ‘Self-Harm’ By Demanding Operation Sindoor Debate
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday criticised the Opposition for demanding a discussion on Operation Sindoor, asserting that they had committed a "mistake" by raising the issue. According to NDTV his remarks came during a meeting of the NDA parliamentary party in Delh.
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, was India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and targeted terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

According to NDTV, PM Modi told the NDA MPs that the Opposition had been "thrashed badly" in the parliamentary debate and had "shot itself in the foot." He added that their approach amounted to "self-harm."
This was the second NDA parliamentary meeting held during the Monsoon session of Parliament since the formation of the new government in June last year.
During the meeting, the MPs felicitated Prime Minister Modi for his "exceptional leadership" in overseeing India's decisive military response to the Pahalgam attack through Operation Sindoor. In a resolution passed during the gathering, NDA lawmakers praised Modi's "unwavering resolve, visionary statesmanship, and resolute command," saying his leadership had "ignited a renewed spirit of unity and pride in the hearts of all Indians."
The resolution also hailed the Indian armed forces for their "unmatched courage and unwavering commitment" during the operation. "Their courage highlights their unflinching devotion to protecting our nation," it stated.
Condolences were offered for the 26 people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack. The NDA MPs said the attack had both "saddened and enraged" the nation.
The resolution described Operation Sindoor as a "non-escalatory, precise, and targeted attack" on terrorist training camps, aligning with India's doctrine of zero tolerance towards terrorism. It emphasized India's determination to dismantle terror infrastructure wherever necessary.
The MPs also commended PM Modi for launching one of India's most extensive global outreach efforts following the operation. According to the resolution, 59 Members of Parliament from across party lines were sent to 32 countries to explain India's position on terrorism.
"This was one of the most comprehensive global outreach missions ever undertaken by India, underscoring how the country has been a victim of terror and why any terrorist attack, regardless of where it occurs, must be treated as a crime against humanity," the MPs said.
