Noida Dowry Death: Fight Over Beauty Parlour Led to Nikki Bhati Being Set on Fire

The Noida dowry death case involving 28-year-old Nikki Bhati has taken a chilling turn, with police revealing what led to the fatal argument with her husband, Vipin Bhati.

On August 21, 2025, Nikki told Vipin she wanted to reopen her beauty parlour with her sister Kanchan. Vipin opposed the idea, saying such activities were "not allowed" in his family. Nikki stood firm, saying "no one could stop us." This escalated into a fight that later ended with Nikki being set on fire.

Kasna SHO Dharmendra Shukla confirmed that around 3:30 pm the argument broke out, and just two hours later, Nikki's family was informed she had been burned alive.

Family's Allegations of Dowry Harassment

Nikki and Kanchan, who both married into the same family in 2016, had long faced harassment, according to relatives.

Nikki married Vipin Bhati, while her sister Kanchan married his brother Rohit Bhati.

The family alleged Nikki was pressured for a dowry of ₹35 lakh, leading her to return to her parental home multiple times over nine years.

Despite repeated reconciliations, the harassment allegedly continued.

Her brother Rohit Gurjar said Nikki was rushed from hospital to hospital after the incident, but could not survive.

Nikki and Kanchan's Social Media Presence

The sisters were popular on Instagram and YouTube, where they ran the handle "Makeover by Kanchan" to promote their beauty parlour.

Their online presence added to Nikki's desire to restart her salon business - a decision that ultimately triggered the dispute with her husband.

Police caught Vipin Bhati after a chase on Saturday and placed him in 14-day judicial custody. His mother Daya Bhati and brother Rohit Bhati were arrested later.

Shockingly, Vipin showed no remorse during questioning, saying,"I have no remorse. I haven't killed her. She died on her own. Husband and wife often fight. It is very common."

The death of Nikki Bhati in Noida has sparked massive outrage across India. Despite dowry being illegal, cases like Nikki's continue to expose deep-rooted social evils.

Police investigations are ongoing, while the victim's family continues to demand strictest punishment for those responsible.
