Nithyananda: Who Is The Godman At The Center Of So Many Controversies?
Controversial self-proclaimed 'godman' Swami Nithyananda, who left India in 2019 amid serious allegations, has been the subject of unverified rumors. These claims have not been substantiated by any reliable sources. However, Nithyananda's team has denied the rumours, stating there is no truth to the speculation. Nithyananda remains active through his digital platforms, although his exact location remains undisclosed.

Who Is Swami Nithyananda?
Born on January 1, 1978 (age 47 years) in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, to Arunachalam and Lokanayaki, Swami Nithyananda rose to prominence as a spiritual leader. Claiming to possess divine abilities, he amassed a significant following and established multiple ashrams in India and abroad. Presenting himself as a guru guiding devotees toward enlightenment, he gained both admiration and controversy over the years.
According to a video available on his website, Nithyananda claims to have attained 'enlightenment' at the age of 12. He presents himself as a spiritual leader of Hinduism and asserts that he operates centers in 47 countries. Additionally, he leads Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam, a religious organisation he founded to spread his teachings. However, while he has cultivated a devoted following, his journey has also been marred by controversies.
The 'Kailaasa' Controversy
After leaving India, Nithyananda announced the creation of a self-declared nation called 'Kailaasa' on a remote island, which he claims to be a sovereign Hindu nation. Despite an Interpol red corner notice issued by India, his precise whereabouts remain undisclosed.
Past Controversies
This is not the first time Nithyananda has been embroiled in controversy. In 2010, he was arrested in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district after a case was registered against him in Bengaluru. However, he was later granted bail.
In 2012, a US-based woman accused him of misconduct, alleging that she had suffered abuse for five years.
In 2019, an FIR was filed against him and two of his associates at an Ahmedabad ashram for allegedly abducting and confining two minors and a 19-year-old woman. Following the complaint, the Gujarat High Court issued notices in response to a habeas corpus petition filed by the father of the alleged victims. Two ashram managers were arrested, and the minors were rescued.
Despite the allegations and legal proceedings, Nithyananda's current location remains unknown.
Speculation and Ongoing Mystery
Over the years, various unverified reports have emerged regarding Nithyananda's well-being. In 2022, claims suggested that he was facing severe health issues and was under the care of a team of doctors. Additionally, there have been speculations about an economic crisis in 'Kailaasa' and assertions that some of the footage on his website may have been pre-recorded.
Previously, Nithyananda dismissed similar rumors on social media, stating that he was in a state of 'Samadhi'-a deep meditative stage. He reassured followers that he was alive but taking time before returning to his spiritual sessions.
His last known digital appearances, including online sermons and social media posts, surfaced just six hours ago (at the time of writing), continuing a pattern of frequent activity.
As discussions around his whereabouts persist, uncertainty remains about his current location.
