Mukesh Ambani Continues To Be India's Richest Man, Ranks 11th Globally

With a net worth of $96.4 billion, Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, India's most esteemed company, has retained his position as India's wealthiest individual, as per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index as of August 11.

Ambani, aged 66, regained his status as the foremost Indian billionaire in January, a shift prompted by a decline in the wealth of Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, due to an unfavourable report from US-based short seller Hindenburg Research.

Ambani is also ranked as the 11th richest person globally.

The robust performance of the Indian stock market has exerted a substantial influence on the prosperity of Indian billionaires. Starting from the beginning of the year, the benchmark Sensex has surged by 7.3 per cent.

Nevertheless, among the top 15 billionaires in India, Adani and Radhakishan Damani are the sole two individuals who saw a decline in their wealth during this period.
