MP Election 2023: Will Jyotiraditya Scindia Make His State Poll Debut? Aunt's Decision Sparks Buzz
Madhya Pradesh is gearing up for its upcoming assembly elections, and political dynamics are already in play. One notable development is the decision of Madhya Pradesh's Youth and Sports Minister, Yasodhara Raje Scindia, to withdraw from electoral politics due to health concerns.
Yasodhara Raje, a four-time sitting MLA and cabinet minister and the aunt of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, has officially communicated her decision to withdraw from the electoral race. She cites compelling health concerns as the reason behind her decision, having battled COVID-19 four times during the ongoing pandemic.

State BJP President VD Sharma has confirmed this development, acknowledging Yashodhara Ji's seniority and respected leadership within the party. He revealed that she had conveyed her decision to the party approximately three months ago, expressing her inability to contest the upcoming polls due to her significant health issues.
Yashodhara Raje Scindia, who is 69 years old, has been a prominent figure in the state's politics and her choice to step back from the state polls has sparked speculation. It raises the question of whether her nephew, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, might make his debut in the Vidhan Sabha polls. Speculation has arisen about the possibility of him contesting from his aunt's Shivpuri constituency or either of the two other seats in Guna - Bamori or Kolaras.
These three assembly segments are part of Scindia's former Lok Sabha constituency, Guna, which he lost as the sitting Congress MP to BJP's Dr. KP Yadav in the 2019 general elections.
