MP CM Mohan Yadav Showcases Achievements of His Six-Month Tenure
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, on Tuesday, highlighted the significant strides made by his government within the first six months of its tenure. Among the notable achievements, Yadav emphasized the signing of a tripartite agreement for the Ken-Betwa rivers linking project, initiatives to address challenges in the Parvati-Kali Sindh and Gandhi Sagars Chambal project, and the approval for establishing a Rs 60,000 crore ethane cracker unit in Sehore district.

The agreement for the Ken-Betwa project, which marks a significant step towards addressing water scarcity and enhancing irrigation facilities, was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This collaboration between the chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh along with the central water resources ministry aims to invite tenders worth more than Rs 17,000 crore.
Yadav also shed light on the progress of the Parvati-Kali Sindh project, revealing that both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are set to receive Rs 35,000 crore each from the Centre for its execution. Additionally, efforts to eliminate obstacles in the Gandhi Sagars Chambal dam project, constructed in 1956, were discussed.
The chief minister announced that central PSU GAIL has proposed setting up India's largest ethane cracker unit in Ashta tehsil of Sehore district. This project, which involves an investment of around Rs 60,000 crore, is expected to create nearly 15,000 jobs during its implementation phase and over 5,600 jobs once operational. The MP Industrial Development Corporation is tasked with providing approximately 800 hectares of land for this venture.
Yadav's administration has also taken steps towards regulating noise pollution by acting against more than 32,000 cases of norm violations related to sound systems installed at religious places and other areas. Furthermore, initiatives like PM Shri Air Ambulance Service, PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Sewa, and PM Shri Dharmik Paryatan Heli Sewa were launched to enhance accessibility and convenience for the people.
Looking ahead, preparations for the Simhasth Kumbh Mela in Ujjain in 2028 are underway with a dedicated task force established to oversee necessary arrangements. The government has also focused on water conservation through the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan and reported a 26 per cent increase in GST collection at Rs 19,091 crore compared to the previous year. Additionally, welfare schemes like Ladli Behna and Ladli Laxmi continue to support women and girls across the state.
In his address marking 180 days in office since being elected as the leader of BJP's legislature party on December 11 and assuming office on December 13, Yadav's recounting of these achievements underscores his government's commitment to development and welfare initiatives across Madhya Pradesh.
